The lodge was amazing and so are the hosts, Jason & Scott. We were warmly welcomed by Jason on arrival, with a roaring fire already prepared for us and the house warm and cozy. Totally brilliant place with masses of little detailed touches, wish we could stay longer and next time we're back in the area we certainly will. The Lodge provided a fantastic base if driving into Milford for an overnight stay on the Sound. A stay in The Lodge is highly recommended. (Airbnb July 2019 | 5 STARS)

Such a nice cozy place, Mataura Lodge is an amazing place to stay! Very close to local cafes and amenities. Scott and Jason were amazing and couldn't have been more helpful. The lodge itself is beautiful and very well maintained, so clean and the fire is great, heating the whole lodge. We will definitely visit again, thanks so much. (Airbnb July 2019 | 5 STARS)

Absolutely amazing place! If you imagine a boutique and luxe cottage countryside with a fire place, between Queenstown and Te Anau then this is the right place for you. The beds are extremely comfortable, which made it hard to get up in the morning. The hosts are incredible and friendly. There's a lovely cafe and gallery down the street and the lodge has a view of sheep grazing. Couldn't be more perfect. Thank you for a great NZ experience. (Airbnb September 2019 | 5 STARS)

This property is stunning inside and out. I stayed here with my partner and 2 friends for a getaway. The facilities are amazing. We cooked a big dinner and have a cozy night in beside the most beautiful fire. The beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in, and the attention to detail with the decor is incredible. We couldn't have asked anymore for a couples getaway, and felt totally relaxed after a night in the countryside. Highly recommend for couples or a friends get away. (Google August 2019 | 5 STARS)

Mataura Lodge is a beautiful home, our family of 6 loved it. I would happily recommend this place if planning on touring around Queenstown and the lower South Island, you will enjoy it as much as we did. It's clean, has history, and modern decor all cleverly rolled into one. Will definitely be back. (Google August 2019 | 5 STARS)
